This website is here to tell about my three Alaskan Malamutes, (Timber, Wolf & Sandi) - AND to inform the public about the consequences of buying your puppy from a pet shop.

Timber D.O.B. March 16 1999 - female. Black & white masked. The Alpha, loves attention from everyone, thinks a visit to the vet is a social event. Origin: a horrible puppy mill in Nebraska, sold at Shake a Paw pet store. |
Wolf D.O.B. July 24, 1999 - female. Grey, white & cream colors. Brave, a thief, and will eat non stop. Use to steal shoes, towels, dolls & rip them to shreds. She just steals food now! Playful, a Clown, & Very Funny. Origin: a HORRIBLE puppy mill in Missouri, also sold by Shake a paw pet store. |
Sandi D.O.B. unknown. female. White & Black. Sandi was dropped off at a shelter when her
owner became very ill. After she was there for 2 weeks, she was scheduled for euthanasia -
that is when we were called, because we had signed up as "last resorts" so she
would not be killed. 8/03 - A year later, we had decided to keep Sandi. |

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM A PET Shop that sells puppies ~ we bought our dogs from a NJ pet store chain (Shake a Paw), and have confirmed that both have Hip Dysplasia, one has it severe, and the other moderate. These dogs were not yet even two years old and their dysplasia was obvious. So many folks say to us: "They are pet shop dogs(?), they look so beautiful!" Puppy shop dogs may look fine, but you don't know what is hidden inside. It is the advice of this webmaster that anyone thinking of getting a puppy/dog should SEARCH FOR A GOOD BREEDER, or better yet, VISIT AN ANIMAL SHELTER. A good breeder would never ever sell their puppies to a pet shop, so who do you think does? PUPPY MILLS. It's the only way a pet shop can get puppies-do not support puppy mills by buying from them. You do not know what you are getting from a pet shop...those "special papers & AKC" mean nothing! Please read the links below. It's all about GREED, at the expense of innocent animals...and YOU. Just a note to those wondering what "pet shop" means. It is a store that sells puppies for a profit. It is PERFECTLY wonderful and ok to adopt a pet from stores such as Pet Smart....you are saving a life when you adopt a pet from the find folks who sit outside stores LIKE PetSmart on the weekends with animals from your nearby animal shelter.
